Intent Data

Intent data is information that indicates a prospect's likelihood to purchase, based on their recent research and behavioral signals. First-party intent data comes from your own website and products (page views, demo requests, trial starts). Third-party intent data is collected by external platforms from browsing behavior, content consumption, and social media activity.

Sources of intent data

Intent data sources include: G2 and Capterra profile views, review site activity, content syndication networks (Bombora, TechTarget), web browsing data, LinkedIn activity, and increasingly social media posts. Social media intent data is unique because it's explicit and public — people openly state their problems and needs in posts.

Social media as intent data

Social media posts are the most direct form of intent data because they're unfiltered and unsolicited. When someone posts "we're evaluating alternatives to our current CRM," that's clearer intent data than a page view on a competitor's pricing page. WireTrap captures this social intent data and turns it into scored, actionable leads.
