Setting Up Alerts

Get notified on Telegram or Slack within minutes of a high-score post appearing.

Alerts send a notification to Telegram or Slack whenever WireTrap scores a post above your threshold. The average time from a post going live to an alert arriving is under 30 minutes — the length of one fetch cycle.

You can have multiple channels per brand — e.g. a Telegram DM for yourself and a Slack channel for your team.

Adding a Telegram channel

  • Open Telegram and start a chat with @WireTrapAlertBot (or your configured bot)
  • Send /start to get your Chat ID
  • In WireTrap, click Add Channel → Telegram and paste your Chat ID
  • Set a minimum score threshold (70 is a good default)
  • Optionally filter by intent — leave blank to alert on all intents
  • Save — alerts are active immediately
TipFor team alerts, add the bot to a Telegram group and use the group's Chat ID. Everyone in the group gets notified.
